I’m new at this but decided to give this all a try. I am setting up an online clothing store for my cousin and am deciding on a which web host i should use. I’m deciding between 1&1 internet’s beginner plan ( http://order.1and1.com/xml/order/Hosting;jsessionid=88187EA73EAACF8C9D753C2E75A416E3.TC61b?__frame=_top&__lf=Static ) and hostgator’s hatchling or baby plan ( http://www.hostgator.com/shared.shtml )
for the number of domains in a package::
does that mean i can only have like a HOME page? and no other links connecting to it? like a customer service page?? or is that a subdomain?
what do you suggest?

no what it means is if you want to host more than 1 domain name (www.yourdomain,www.mydomain,etc) nut you can have as many pages as you want.
i would suggest 1and1. it gives you a little more versatility.and cheaper is always good
I suggest you do more investigating into the companies. Sometimes when it’s too good to be true, something is up with it. Also I wouldn’t recommend hostgator. I’ve have my present customers told me that their support is horrible. For the number of domains in a package means it’s subdomains. For instance http://www.yourdomain.com = http://www.theirname.yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com/theirdomain.

Mandy, It is great that you have narrowed your match for web hosting down to two options. If you go with the hatchling plan you will only have one domain which will be your home page. If you are looking to have multiple pages I would go with the next plan up. Most web hosts offer unlimited domain hosting which means that you can have a home page and an unlimited amount of sub-domains linking to it.
